Our placement service is designed for students from Russia and Eastern Europe seeking reasonable higher education in the United States. We are located in New York's Capital District, the home of some most prestigeous American colleges, such as SUNY at Albany, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Union College, College of St. Rose, Russel Sage College, Skidmore College.

Our work is based on years of direct personal experience in higher education administration. We recognize that more than one institution may be needed for the individual to reach his or her personal goal(s). We provide continuing advisory support to assure that the objective is achieved.

We suggest a most economical strategy to enroll students in one of the State's finest community colleges, e.g. Hudson Valley Community College. There, for two years, they can make the required academic adjustments and take advantage of the highest quality education for the lowest tuition in the State of New York. In the course of those two years we (HNE) and HVCC work with the candidate to design the next step and identify, by program and cost, the right senior institution for the completion of academic studies.

For many students this may mean staying in this region at one of the other important schools, public and private, who together, have a broad array of academic offerings. For those with general interests, we have encouraged automatic transfer to SUNY at Albany, which is a recognized national center. But there are others options, including RPI (Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute), Union College, Skidmore, Siena College, Russell Sage, the College of St. Rose, inter al., for the traditional student, and Empire State College (SUNY) for the non-traditional learner.

By living off-campus in an array of possible accomodations (in one of the safest American urban environments), an option made possible by enrollment at the community college for two years, students can maximize saving on living expenses. The Exchange works continually with its participants to assure the successful completion of their visit.

ESTIMATED COSTS OF AN UNDERGRADUATE EDUCATION

By adopting a multi-institutional strategy we estimate the annual cost for the first two years (leading to an associate degree) to be between $10,000 - 12,000. The second two years (leading to the bachelor degree), the annual cost at a senior public institution, range between $14,000 - 16,000. And each year of graduate education is modestly higher than these last figures.

The community college has an intensive English language program, which is credit generating and may shorten the time needed for completion of a degree. Additionally, local institutions have joint "combined" programs for Masters programs in such fields as Business Administration.

Hudson-Neva has a one time fee of $250, which includes placement, reception in New York, transport to Albany, and orientation.
